The Social Security Office is a self-governing agency of the US federal government which administers the social security. It is a social insurance program that consists of disability, survivor’s benefits and retirement. To meet the criteria for these reimbursements, nearly all American workers pay the Social Security Taxes on their salary, future payback are based on the worker’s contributions.
The Social Security Office is headquartered in Woodland. The agency comprises of 8 processing centers, 10 regional offices, 37 teleservice centers and around 1300 field offices. In the year 2007, around 62,000 people were engaged by the Social Security Office.
